(Alliance News) - Ladbrokes-owner Entain PLC is in talks to appoint Jette Nygaard-Andersen as chief executive, who would be the first woman to run a listed UK gambling group, Sky News reported late Thursday.
Sky News said Nygaard-Andersen's appointment was not concluded and would likely be announced in the coming weeks.

Nygaard-Andersen is already a non-executive director on the board of the FTSE-100 sports betting and gaming group.
Nygaard-Andersen was appointed to the board of what was then known as GVC Holdings at the end of 2019, having spent more than 15 years in senior roles at entertainment firm Modern Times Group AB, which operates in Scandinavia and central Europe.
Entain needs to find a new boss after CEO Shay Segev resigned last week to become co-CEO of sports streaming platform DAZN. Segev has a notice period of six months and will remain in his current role for that period or until a successor is in place.
Entain said at the time that a process is "well under way to find his successor".
Segev's move came just a week after Entain revealed a GBP8.1 billion takeover offer by US casino operator MGM Resorts International. Entain said the offer "significantly undervalues the company and its prospects".
MGM Resorts has until February 1 to make a formal bid.
Entain shares were up 0.5% at 1,412.50 pence each in London on Friday morning.
