We are upgrading the UBS (Lux) Equity Fund - European Opportunity fund to a Morningstar Analyst Rating™ of Bronze. It was previously rated Neutral. The fund is run with a high-conviction approach based on fundamental equity analysis. This process was established in October 2004 by current fund manager Max Anderl and former comanager Neil Mears, and has led to favourable results in terms of risk and return since it has been in place. At the time of our last review, a change of the fund’s comanager led us to hold the fund at Neutral; in March 2011, Jeremy Leung, a former quant analyst at UBS, was appointed comanager after the death of the very experienced Mears. Since that time, the new team has executed the proven process well. The presence of longtime manager Anderl also ensures continuity, further underpinning the Bronze rating.
