London-based Frontier IP is focused on commercialising intellectual property.
The company said the two firms have inked a memorandum of understanding to create a strategic partnership focused on the scale-up, manufacture and commercialisation of Dekiln's kiln-free, low-energy bio-based materials as ceramic alternatives.
Frontier IP holds a 24.8% equity stake in Dekiln.
Frontier explained that the collaboration seeks to accelerate commercialisation of Dekiln's proprietary processes and materials in the UK and beyond, "by combining them with Johnson Tiles' manufacturing expertise, market access and sector leadership".
Under the collaboration, Johnson Tiles will support Dekiln in the creation of a demonstration manufacturing plant, with this set to be located in Stoke-on-Trent, noted Frontier IP.
