(Alliance News) - Kavango Resources PLC on Wednesday announced results from its metallurgical testwork programme on ore samples from its Hillside Gold Project in Zimbabwe.
The London-based, South Africa-focused metals explorer and gold producer said the programme "achieved its objective of defining the optimal processing design, processing parameters, and reagent consumption rates" for the gold processing plant.
The company highlighted low levels of elements that could act as pregnant liquid gold robbers, including native carbon minerals. Additionally, the company noted "very high" metallurgical recovery of over 95% in ideal lab conditions, and an expected 90% to 93% recovery range in real-world conditions.
"The team is extremely encouraged by these excellent metallurgical testwork results," said Peter Wynter Bee, interim chief executive officer of Kavango. "This gives us the confidence to continue building the resource base at our Hillside projects, with the goal of increasing gold production via future increases in processing capacity."
Shares in Kavango closed down 4% at 0.72 pence in London on Wednesday.
