(Alliance News) - Ireland's unemployment rate came down in April, albeit from an upwardly revised rate in March, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed Thursday.

The country's unemployment rate was 4.8% in April, down from 5.0% in March which was revised up from 4.7%.

The unemployment rate for females was 5.2% in April, down from 5.3% in March which was revised up sharply from 4.7%.

The unemployment rate for males fell to 4.5% in April from an unrevised 4.7% in March.
