(Alliance News) - Inflation in Ireland cooled in November, a preliminary estimate from the Central Statistics Office showed on Friday.
The CSO said the flash harmonised consumer inflation rate was 2.3% in November, cooling from 3.6% in October. The harmonised measure is made to allow for EU-wide comparison.
On a monthly basis, harmonised prices decreased by 1.1% in November from October.
Energy prices fell 5.8% on a monthly basis in November, and declined 9.9% year-on-year. Food prices rose 0.3% monthly, and grew 6.2% yearly.
It estimated prices excluding energy and unprocessed food had risen by 3.9% year-on-year.
