(Alliance News) - Ethernity Networks Ltd said on Wednesday it has been selected by an existing customer to provide its data processing system-on chip for the customer's second-generation fixed wireless access base station node product.

The London-based data processing semiconductor technology supplier said the contract is valued at USD340,000 and is a follow-on order after shipment of the majority of its initial USD2 million system on a chip devices for the customer's first-generation product.

Chief Executive Officer David Levi claimed the second order demonstrated Ethernity's efficient and cost-effective 5G and broadband solutions.

Ethernity said it expects the latest contract will allow it to double the capacity of the first-generation product, working with the customer's radio technology to provide advanced networking functions, traffic control and management for hundreds of homes per SoC device.

It expects to complete delivery of the order by the end of the first half of 2023, anticipating potential subsequent orders.

Shares in Ethernity rose by 10% to 10.37 pence in London on Wednesday midday.
