Provexis PLC - Reading, England-based producer of heart-health functional food ingredient Fruitflow - Reports pretax loss of GBP202,207 for six months ended September 30, widens from GBP165,398 the prior year. Revenue of GBP237,075 in the period, up 7% from GBP222,262 in 2019. Provexis says this is an all-time high in the first year-half for the Fruitflow business. Administrative costs in the six-month period up to GBP262,104 from GBP223,377 the year before.

"The Covid-19 virus is having a significant adverse effect on circulation in many patients, and it is causing wider issues with inflammation. The company and its commercial partner DSM Venturing have experienced increased consumer interest for Fruitflow in light of the pandemic, and are seeking to maximise the resulting commercial opportunities to the benefit of consumers worldwide," says Chair Dawson Buck and Chief Executive Ian Ford.

Current stock price: 0.87 pence, up 14% on Friday

Year-to-date change: up 8.3%
