Asset managers have already laid out their predictions for where markets will go in 2024. Many believe in continued growth for the "Magnificent Seven" stocks, but this could be interrupted by the US election in November. The growth of both UK and European markets next year is also contested – there too, elections will hog the headlines.

The next earnings season, meanwhile, unofficially kicks off on January 13, when we'll get to hear how the biggest companies in the world fared in 2023.

Alongside elections, interest rates remain at the top of the agenda for most. In our quarterly calendars below, you’ll be able to see all the key dates for when the Bank of England, the US Federal Reserve, and the European Central Bank issue bank rates.
