Last year the Oxford English Dictionary added words like "allyship", "defunding," and "chopsing" to its lexicon. One word sure to make its next update is "metaverse", following Facebook's rebrand last year. 

The metaverse is already playing host to fashion events and concerts, but how are fund managers viewing it? Thematic investing is booming, so is it likely to become a major theme in its own right in future? And, finally, what are the real risks of backing it with your money at this stage?
