Following the Morningstar OBSR Analyst Ratings Meeting on 15th November 2013, we have downgraded the Schroder ISF Global Smaller Companies fund to a Morningstar OBSR Analyst Rating™ of Bronze. The fund previously held a Silver Rating. We think the fund’s London-based management pairing of Matthew Dobbs and Richard Sennitt oversee the process well, constructing a portfolio based on stock selection from Schroders’ regional small-caps managers. However, the contribution from the regional managers has in recent years been disappointing. Having reviewed the global small-cap equity sector we have concluded that a Bronze Rating is now a fairer reflection of the fund’s merits.
