If you missed Morningstar's annual Fund Awards this year, here's your chance to catch up on all the nominees and winners. In early March, we unveiled the winners of our 2011 Morningstar UK Awards, which are designed to recognise those funds and fund groups that added the most value for investors within the context of a relevant peer group in 2010, and over the longer-term. On the night, First State walked away with three of the 15 awards, including that of Best Large Equity Fund House. A week later, we celebrated two fund managers in Europe who our analysts believe have demonstrated excellence in the past year and who have proven to be great stewards for shareholders’ capital over the long term. Of particular interest to UK investors is that the managers' winning funds are both available for sale in the UK--one invests within the Morningstar category of Europe ex-UK Large-Cap Equity and is currently rated Superior by Morningstar analysts; the other within Global Small-/Mid-Cap Equity and carries our analysts' highest rating of Elite.
