Whether you’re a newcomer to the world of investing or a seasoned investor, Morningstar’s Portfolio Manager is a straightforward and sophisticated tool that enables you to create, track and manage your portfolio.

We offer two different types of portfolio: Watchlist Portfolios can be used as a tracking tool for assets that you already hold or are considering adding to your portfolio; Transaction Portfolios allow you to also manage specific buy and sell portfolio transactions. Both enable you to manage equity, fund and cash holdings, compare your portfolio to a chosen benchmark, track individual and overall gains and losses, monitor risk and diversification, and read news and commentary related to your holdings.

You can save up to five portfolios on Morningstar.co.uk. Perhaps you invest in a company pension, do some investing of your own on the side or as part of a SIPP, and also run an ISA: are you confident that your combined investments are well diversified? Premium subscribers to Morningstar.co.uk can use our Instant X-Ray tool to drill down into a portfolio and gain a comprehensive analysis of underlying holdings, asset allocation, sector weightings, investment style, regional distribution, bond and equity statistics, and potential stock overlap.

Or maybe you don’t yet invest but are considering dipping your toe into the water: Use Portfolio Manager to create a fantasy portfolio and monitor the diversification benefits and performances of your potential holdings. In each case, you can set up e-mail alerts as an easy way to keep track of important changes to your portfolios. Not sure which stocks to invest in? Make the most of Morningstar's independent Equity Research. For fund investors, our Analyst Ratings can help you find out what our analysts think about the People, Parent, Process, Performance and Price, as well as a fund’s potential role in your portfolio. And if you're interested in ETFs, you'll also like our ETF Research. Watch this space for investment trust research--we'll be launching this in the New Year.

Portfolio Manager is free to use—simply register at Morningstar.co.uk to save your portfolio so that you can revisit it at your convenience. Access Portfolio Manager and all our other investing tools here. Make the most of a two-week free trial of Premium here.
