(Alliance News) - Vodafone Group PLC on Monday announced a new partnership agreement with Telekom Srbija that will cover Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The FTSE 100-listed telecommunications company based in Newbury, Berkshire partnered with the Serbian state-owned telecommunications operator to extend its reach in southeast Europe.

Telekom Srbija said that the strategic alliance will enable it to "access [Vodafone's] category insights and strategy coaching, consultancy or end-to-end sourcing execution," which will allow the company to optimise cost and value.

"We are delighted to welcome Telekom Srbija to our partner market family and look forward to working together to bring the benefits of our knowledge and expertise to their customers in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina," Vodafone's Partner Markets & Carrier Services Chief Executive Diego Massidda said.

Telekom Srbija's Chief Executive Vladimir Lucic added: "We are confident that our cooperation with Vodafone, one of the world's leaders in this trade, will provide us with access to all important resources in the sphere of digital transformation, and make it possible for us to increase the efficiency of our operations, optimise costs and improve customer experience."

Shares in Vodafone were down 0.9% and 110.40 pence on Monday in London around midday.
