(Alliance News) - Premier Inn owner Whitbread PLC faces a backlash from shareholders over its executive bonus plans, Sky News reported on Friday.

Sky News said Institutional Voting Information Service, or IVIS, a provider of corporate governance research, has taken issue with Whitbread's remuneration report ahead of the hotel company's annual general meeting next week Thursday.

The vote, an advisory and not a binding one. Sky News noted the backlash is centred on the company's rewards for its Chief Executive Alison Brittain and other senior colleagues.
