(Alliance News) - The Mission Marketing Group PLC said Monday first half trading was in line with its own growth targets, with profitability rising solidly.

The advertising agency expects to report revenue growth of 5% and headline pretax profit from continuing operations growth of 10% in the six months to June 30.

Mission Marketing clarified headline pretax profit does not include and profit or loss on investments, acquisition-related items or start-up losses.

In the first half of 2018, Mission Marketing recorded headline pretax profit of GBP3.5 million on revenue of GBP37.0 million.

Mission Marketing said it made no new acquisitions in the period but made payments of GBP3.1 million for acquisitions made in prior years.

The company expects annual results to "again have a significant" weighting towards the second half.

Shares in Mission Marketing were down 8.7% in London on Monday at 83.50 pence each.
