Aberdeen MM Ethical: Qual. Rating Issued

Aberdeen Multi-Manager Ethical isn’t bad, but we don’t see it as a compelling choice for ethical investors.

We have published a new Morningstar Qualitative Rating and Research Report for Aberdeen Multi-Manager Ethical.

"We like the process used by this team, the bulk of which centres around manager selection from the universe of ethical funds offered by various fund houses. The team divides responsibilities by sector, with managers interviewed six-monthly. A qualitative scoring process enables them to select funds in which they have a high degree of confidence. They also monitor the trend of their scores after each review, which helps to identify funds where their level of comfort is changing. As the team runs 12 funds of funds, portfolio construction and implementation responsibilities are divided among members and rotated regularly, ensuring that each manager has complete understanding of every fund. This rotation, combined with overlap in fund selection, mitigates our concern over their workload..."
