Schroder ISF Middle East holds some appeal, but it's not a strong choice in our view.

We have published a new Morningstar Qualitative Rating and Research Report for Schroder ISF Middle East.

"Like all funds in the Schroders emerging-markets suite, the emphasis here is on team-based management. Leading the effort is Allan Conway, who joined the firm in Oct. 2004 as head of Emerging Markets bringing with him almost three decades of investment experience. Day-to-day research of pan-Arab stocks is done by a three-member team led by Rami Sidani based in Dubai. Sidani and his colleagues were brought across from Shuaa Capital--an asset manager in the region--in mid-2008. Prior to this, research on Arab stocks was outsourced. The introduction of Sidani and his colleagues is a good move that we believe should result in a greater understanding of the region. However, coverage of the region’s two largest markets--Israel and Turkey--is provided by the team in London."
