Narrator: Welcome to the home page of Morningstar.co.uk. The sixth tutorial of this video series takes a look at our online editorial content, including data- and research-driven articles and videos to help you make the investment decisions that will achieve your financial goals.

On the home page, our left-hand column is contains the latest editorial from Morningstar’s investment experts. Individual investors and their advisers value us for our education and investment ideas, curated and analysed on a daily basis in our editorial. As on the home page, you will also find the most recent Morningstar editorial in the left-hand column of all our sections including investing for retirement, Equities, OEIC & Unit trusts, ETF’s and Markets.

Before we look at how our editorial can direct you to specific investment ideas and further information, let’s first understand what areas and topics our editorial team covers.

On the home page or any other section, click on ‘Read More News’ to access our library.

Here you can search for content on your chosen theme, let’s say, China, by using the keyword search box. And all the articles to do with China will now appear. You can also browse all our content on a specific area of investment such as Investment Trusts.

Clicking on a collection name filters the content to include just that area we are interested in.

In this archive, you can also see the most recent company and market news from our real-time news provider, Alliance News. Here you can check out earnings news, dividend news, updates on M&A in the UK market, as well as economic data reports and market updates.

If you’re not looking for information on a specific trend or investment strategy, you might just want to read the latest commentary from our editorial team. Let’s go back to the home page and take a closer look.

The stories at the top are always the latest. I’m interested in this headline 3 Trusts with Growing Dividends

As you can see, this is a video in which Morningstar.co.uk Editor Emma Wall interviews our very own Morningstar Fund Analyst David Holder on information that they think will serve shareholders well over the long term.

You can choose whether to be a viewer, and watch the video, or a reader, and read the transcript of our videos we have for you below. Any article or video that mentions specific investments will always let you carry out further research on them by clicking the relevant links under the ‘Securities Mentioned’ section.

Looking for more of the same? Then don’t forget to check out our ‘related articles section on the right-hand side. You can also view our most popular and most recent content here.

Towards the top you also have the option to print the article or share it with peers via social media.

We understand that you might not have time to check in every day for the latest top-quality investor education and ideas. That’s why we’ve created a range of newsletters that deliver our best content direct to your inbox. All these newsletters are free; all you have to do is simply login to your account at the top of the page or quickly register to create a free account.

Now once you’re logged in go to My Account and here subscribe or unsubscribe to as many or as few newsletters as you want under the Newsletter Subscription tab.

We recommend you also sign up to receive updates about Morningstar so we can tell you when we’ve launched a new feature such as a screening tool on the website.

To help you ensure you’re reading all the news and analysis that’s relevant to your investments, we’ve channelled this into our Portfolio tool so you never need to miss a beat.

Looking at my portfolio as an example, the News tab shows me not only Morningstar’s latest analysis and editorial on my holdings, but also relevant regulatory announcements and news from Alliance News.

I can get even more information on a specific investment by clicking on the investment name from within my portfolio to visit the Morningstar report on that stock or fund. I’m going to use my holding in BP as an example.

From within the Morningstar Report on BP, I can click on the ‘News and Events tab’ to see all the latest news and Morningstar commentary. I can also read Morningstar’s analysis of this stock’s long-term prospects by clicking on the Morningstar Research tab.

In the next video we take an in-depth look at the Portfolio Monitor Report and how it can help you keep track of your investment performance and future wealth. Don’t forget to subscribe to our daily, weekly or monthly newsletters to ensure you don’t miss our award-winning investor education and portfolio ideas.
