Following a recent Morningstar Analyst Ratings Committee meeting, we have lowered the Morningstar Analyst Rating™ for JPM Strategic Bond to Neutral. The fund previously held a Morningstar Analyst Rating of Bronze. We appreciate the experience and the depth of resources available to the management team but we think that the results achieved over time with this very flexible approach are not competitive enough. In the longer run, while we recognize that the fund deserves some credit for meeting its cash +3% return objective since inception, we have been increasingly disappointed by its record relative to the Morningstar GBP Flexible Bond category, a more relevant comparison basis in our view. From inception to Feb 2015, the fund has trailed significantly the competition on a risk-adjusted basis.
