Following the Morningstar OBSR Analyst Ratings Meeting on 13th February 2014, we have awarded the Old Mutual North American Equity fund a Morningstar OBSR Analyst Rating™ of Bronze. Dr Ian Heslop has managed the fund since he joined the group in 2004 and he also heads up Old Mutual’s quantitative investment team comprising four additional portfolio managers and analysts. The team adopt a quantitative investment approach which analyses the MSCI North America universe via a multi-factor model based on five factors. The portfolio is constructed with tight constraints against its index and there are no pronounced style biases or tilts towards particular sectors. We believe the fund is an attractive option for investors seeking exposure to North American equities through a quantitative, index-aware approach.
