Wide-moat Unilever (ULVR) has managed to hold on to the top spot on our list of high yielding FTSE stocks this month ahead of a busy earnings season for Britain’s biggest dividend payers. Investors are expecting some positive announcements in the coming weeks, not least from UK banks, which are expected to restart dividend payments.

Unilever, maker of Dove soap and Magnum ice cream, is only one of two companies on our list with a yield of more than 3%, and the other is asset manager Schroders (SDR). One of the main reasons why Unilever has remained at the top is that its share price softened by around 4% so far this year, which has supported the yield.
