All three awards draw from Morningstar OBSR’s qualitative research, which stems from face-to-face meetings the company’s investment analysts hold with fund managers.

Ruli Viljoen, head of investment research for Morningstar OBSR, said:

“The shortlist for this year’s Morningstar OBSR Awards is full of the retail investment industry’s finest fund management talent. All of these individuals should be recognised for the contribution they have made to the industry over the past 12 months, demonstrating a consistent approach and producing long-term returns. The competition for these awards is strong and reaching the shortlist is a true reflection of the fund manager’s skill and dedication in what is an uncertain, volatile, and competitive marketplace.”
