Stock-picking, dividend-seeking and ISA-investing are among the topics most sought out by Morningstar.co.uk readers over the past three months

In stark contrast to the ebullient first three months of the year, the second quarter of 2013 saw markets yo-yo from the FTSE 100's precipitous heights of 6,840 points in late May to dangerously close to 6,000 points just a month later. Despite a moderate uptick in the final week of the quarter, a 3% drop on the FTSE 100 over the past three months has trimmed the leading UK index's gains to just 5.4% over the first half of 2013 as a whole. Take inflation into account and this stock market performance isn't much to shout about. That said, investing is a long-term activity and against a backdrop of economic uncertainty and political unease, a 5%+ increase in UK company shares isn't to be baulked at.

While the markets remain volatile, investors continue to seek new ideas and to confirm—or reject—their existing strategies. As such, the ten most popular articles on Morningstar.co.uk over the second quarter focus on stock-picking, dividend-seeking and ISA-investing, with several of our readers' favourite articles pinpointing their peers' most popular investments. We'll be repeating our "10 Most Popular…" feature shortly, updated with investors' favourite stock and fund purchases of the second quarter, so keep an eye out on Morningstar.co.uk for more later this week.
