LONDON (Alliance News) - Marketing firm XLMedia PLC said Thursday it acquired US personal finance website InvestorJunkie.com for USD5.8 million cash.

InvestorJunkie provides information and reviews of financial products. After completion - expected in the second half of 2018 - InvestorJunkie will be integrated into its Palcon infrastructure which will help improve the day-to-day performance of the site.

"We are delighted to announce the acquisition of InvestorJunkie, a very well known brand in North America," XLMedia Chief Executive Officer Ory Weihs said. "The US personal finance market is a key growth market for our business, and this latest acquisition reaffirms our commitment to further diversify our revenue base."

"We are continuing to build a strong foothold in the North American market and look forward to accelerating our growth strategy to further leverage both our skillset and technology platform in what is a relatively nascent sector," Weihs added.

Shares in XLMedia were 2.5% higher at 104.00 pence on Thursday.
