PRETORIA (Alliance News) - South Africa's wholesale trade decreased for the second straight month in April, preliminary figures from Statistics South Africa showed Thursday.

Wholesale sales fell an unadjusted 2.6% year-over-year in April, much faster than the 0.3% drop in March.

On a monthly basis, wholesale sales declined a seasonally adjusted 3.2% from March, when it rose by 3.1%.

At current prices, wholesale sales climbed 2.1% annually in April, while it contracted 4.7% from the preceding month.
