LONDON (Alliance News) - US President Donald Trump has given his support to British Prime Minister Theresa May following her ultimatum to Russia to account for the presence of a rare nerve agent used to poison a former spy and his daughter.

Trump said Washington was "with the UK all the way, agreeing that the Russian government must provide unambiguous answers as to how this nerve agent came to be used," May's office, Downing Street, said in a statement after the two leaders spoke by phone on Tuesday.

It said May updated Trump on the investigation into the poisoning in the English city of Salisbury on March 4.

"The prime minister set out the conclusion reached by the UK government that it was highly likely that Russia was responsible for the attack against Sergei and Yulia Skripal," it said.
