LONDON (Alliance News) - Numis Corp PLC said Tuesday its former chief executive officer, Oliver Hemsley, reduced his stake in the broker to 5.2% from 6.2%, after a transaction on Monday.

Hemsley - who served as CEO at Numis for 25 years until May 2017 - reduced his stake to 5.6 million shares, equivalent to a 5.2% stake in the 107.9 million shares outstanding in the firm.

Prior to the transaction, Hemsley - who no longer sits on Numis' board after resigning as CEO but remains an adviser to the firm - held a 6.2% stake of the 113.1 million shares outstanding at the time, the company explained. This implies Hemsley previously held 7.0 million shares in the AIM-listed firm.

Last week, Numis said it achieved a "very strong" start to the year with higher volumes and fees compared to the prior year as it said its pipeline remained "promising".

Shares in Numis were flat at 329.50 pence on Tuesday.
