LONDON (Alliance News) - Capita PLC Non-Executive Matthew Lester has raised his interest in the company after a person closely associated with him purchased 8,698 shares at a price of 569.7397 pence each on Wednesday.

His holding after the purchase was not disclosed. The buy was worth a total of GBP49,556.

The non-executive bought shares the day after three fellow board members raised their respective stakes in the business on Tuesday. Chairman Ian Powell bought 3,400 shares at 580 pence each, interim Chief Executive Officer Nick Greatorex bought 1,800 shares at 584.35p each, and Non-Executive Director Gillian Sheldon bought 2,000 shares at 574p each.

Lester's purchase also coincided with the announcement on Tuesday that Capita has appointed former Amec Foster Wheeler Chief Executive Jonathan Lewis as its new chief executive. The outsourcing services provider said Lewis will take up the position from December 1. Nick Greatorex, Capita's finance director, will continue as interim chief executive until November 30.

Capita shares were up 1.9% on Friday morning at 566.00 pence.
