COLOGNE (Alliance News) - Air Berlin PLC has reached an agreement with Deutsche Lufthansa for the latter to acquire certain business units, including in particular NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH as well as Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter mbH.

The combined purchase price of about EUR210 million will be subject to adjustments upon closing of the transaction.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

Meanwhile, Air Berlin said that the negotiations with easyJet PLC and other bidders, in each case in respect of different units of the Air Berlin group, are still continuing.

German airline Air Berlin filed for bankruptcy on August 15 after its main shareholder, Etihad, said it would not give further financial support. The company continued its operations through a government loan.
