LONDON (Alliance News) - Tri-Star Resources PLC on Monday said it has appointed Scott Morrison as a non-executive director, replacing Jonathan Quirk who has resigned.

Morrison has over 35 years' experience in the mining sector and is currently a senior independent director at AIM-listed Asa Resource Group PLC.

"I am delighted to welcome Scott to the board of Tri-Star. His knowledge and experience particularly in metallurgy and mineral processing will be of great value to us as we continue to support our joint venture company, Strategic & Precious Metals Processing LLC, which is constructing the antimony and gold roasting facility in Oman," Chairman Mark Wellesley-Wood said.

Shares in Tri-Star were trading up 9.9% at 0.162 pence on Monday.
