LONDON (Alliance News) - Radiation detection technology firm Kromek Group PLC on Wednesday said it has won a five-year security screening deal worth at least USD3.1 million.

The contract has been awarded by an existing, unnamed customers in the US which works in the "homeland security marketplace", Kromek said.

"We are delighted to announce our first long-term contract in the security screening market," said Chief Executive Arnab Basu.

"This contract win adds to the visibility of revenues underpinning our belief in the continuing growth of the business and commercial traction resulting from the increasing adoption of our technology," he added.

Kromek shares were up 7.9% to 23.20 pence on the news.
