Following a recent Morningstar Analyst Ratings meeting, we have awarded the TM Sanditon European fund a Morningstar Analyst Rating™ of Bronze. This fund only launched in September 2014, shortly after Sanditon Asset Management was founded, but we think investors here have access to a talented manager in Chris Rice. Although his supporting cast has changed over the years, Tim Russell and Julie Dean – who previously worked with Rice at Cazenove – are partners at the new venture and together with Rice they follow a collegial approach around business cycle analysis that extends from their previous collaboration on this process. Sanditon is a relatively new start-up, but we have a high degree of confidence in Rice’s ability to deliver for investors over the long term. His personal investment in the fund reflects strong conviction in his approach and helps align his interests with shareholders’. The fund’s relatively low fees are then the icing on the cake.
