Get Up to Speed on Emerging Markets

Whether you think the region is overheated or is the next rebound story, ensure you've got the emerging-markets knowledge necessary for making successful investment decisions

The worst-performing markets over the past year reads like a list of investors’ favourite emerging markets—funds investing in Brazil, India and Russia have lost between 15% and 30% on average and those focused solely on Turkey top the list with an average category drop of 41%. Even those more diversified funds that invest across the emerging market world have shed an average 13% over the past 12 months, as measured by Morningstar’s Global Emerging Markets Equity category performance. Such dire performances have once again raised questions as to the legitimacy of emerging-market investments, while other commentators are betting on these markets as potential rebound stories.

Whether you’re already investing money in emerging markets, or you’re unwilling to take on the risk, or you’re yet to make up your mind about such investments, ensure you’re fully equipped with a solid understanding of emerging markets with Morningstar’s Investing Mastermind: Emerging Markets quiz. Go against the clock and answer ten questions on emerging markets to receive your performance report, including in-depth explanations of the answers and related topics. Take the private investor version or test your wits with our professional investor quiz before the quiz closes at the end of February.
