Morningstar.co.uk extends a warm welcome to our new Morningstar OBSR website users. We're proud to be able to offer you data, research and commentary on a broad range of investments, including stocks, mutual funds, investment trusts and ETFs.

Please ensure you login to Morningstar.co.uk using the details emalied to you on May 22, 2013 to guarantee that you're able to access all our online features.

We understand that navigating a new website can take a little time, so if you have any questions at any point, don't hesitate to contact client support via the ‘Contact Us’ link at the bottom of the website.

To help you find your way, we've also identified some commonly-asked questions; please find the answers below.

Welcome to the Morningstar.co.uk professional investor community.

Q.   How do I chart the performance of different funds against each other / against benchmarks?

If you know the fund you want to investigate, locate it by using the search field at the top of the website; or, if you’re looking for funds that match specific requirements, find these via the Fund Screener tool. Once you have opened the relevant fund overview page, select ‘Charts’ from the left hand side. On this chart you can then add or remove other securities, sectors and benchmarks.

Q.   How do I print off the fund performance charts?

When viewing the chart (Charts tab on Fund Report), simply click on ‘Chart settings’ then print/export. This will then give you options to print as a PDF or JPG.

Q.   How do I show fund performance in percentage / price?

When viewing a fund chart (Charts tab on Fund Report), simply click on ‘Plot Types’ and you can select to show returns in percentage or price (the latter assume dividend are reinvested).

Q.   Where do I read the Global Investment Strategy report?

Unless you have requested to be removed from our list, the GIS will be sent to all former-OBSR site users via the monthly ‘Professional Investor’ Newsletter. You can subscribe or unsubscribe from this newsletter from ‘My account’, in the top right hand corner of the website.

Q.   How do I see data/ratings/research on investment trusts or ETFs?

For Investment Trusts, you will be able to access all our data, ratings, research and commentary on the Investment Trust Centre tab. For ETFs, you will be able to access all our data, ratings, research and commentary on the ETF Centre tab.  In the same way as for Funds, you can screen for securities that meet your needs via the Investment Trust Screener or ETF Screener. We also have Quickrank tools for both security types, Quantitative Ratings, Analyst Research, and a host of news and commentary.

Q.   How does a fund get a rating, do you have a methodology document?

Our methodology documents are stored in the ‘Help’ section, which is located at the bottom of the website. Once on the ‘Help’ page, you will see a ‘Methodology’ link on the left hand side. We have methodology documents for both our Morningstar Rating (quant) and Morningstar Analyst Rating (qual), as well as for other statistics.

Q.   I have a question regarding a fund.

All questions can be emailed directly to our support team via the ‘Contact Us’ link at the bottom of the site.
